Again this year, the Blais Family held their annual Blaisfest Duc Cruise supporting St. Joseph’s Hospice. This year was another very successful year for the event and they were able to raise OVER $3,900 for St. Joseph’s Hospice. The money raised from this fundraiser will help us to continue to provide end of life care and related services to our Sarnia Lambton Community, free of charge. Thank you Blaisfest and all those who attended!

Recently, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #447 and Lambton Mutual Insurance Company each donated funds to purchase 5 Glider Reclining Chairs, respectively, for our 10 Resident Suites.

These Glider Reclining Chairs will allow for much comfort for both our Resident’s and their visitors, continuing to provide a home-like atmosphere during their end-of-life journey here at Hospice.

St. Joseph’s Hospice is thrilled to announce we are receiving an additional one-time funding from the Ontario Government.

The Ministry of Health is investing up to $147.4 million over three years to expand hospice palliative care services across the province and improve support for hospice residences.

On July 10, 2023, members of the Kinsmen Club of Sarnia presented St. Joseph’s Hospice with a cheque in the amount of $2,798.73. This donation was raised through the Kinsmen Club of Sarnia’s 50/50 draw that took place at the Sarnia Kinsmen Ribfest. Thank you to everyone who supported the raffle and a special thank you to the Kinsmen Club of Sarnia for thinking of us. Gifts like this help us ensure that those in need in our community have sccess to the best end of life care, with both compassion and dignity.

On June 26, 2023, the Employees of the Sarnia Jail held a Fundraiser BBQ, taking donations for St. Joseph’s Hospice! They donated $500 to St. Joseph’s Hospice. Thank you so much to the Sarnia Jail for their support and commitment to St. Joseph’s Hospice and those we serve. While we recognize the financial benefits this donation brings, those we serve remain the true beneficiaries of their generosity!

On June 22, 2023, the Sarnia Legion Branch #62 presented St. Joseph’s Hospice with a $2,000 donation. We are so thankful for their continued support and generosity to St. Joseph’s Hospice and the Sarnia Lambton Community. Donations like this assist us in continuing to provide our services FREE of charge to the Sarnia Lambton Community. Thank you!

Jaime Wyville, a local Real Estate Agent with eXp Realty Platinum Properties, not only wants to give back to her community but wants to give back to St. Joseph’s Hospice, donating a portion of every commission to us.

On June 20, 2023, Jaime presented a cheque in the amount of $2,000 in memory of her Dad, Rick McCabe, on a very special day – his birthday.

Not only does this donation help Hospice to continue to provide palliative care and bereavement services to the Sarnia Lambton community, free of charge; but it continues to provide a lasting legacy for her father.

Thank you to all the Ladies who participated in this year’s Sarnia Golf & Curling Club Ladies Scramble Outing that took place on Saturday, June 10th! The golf outing raised $4,880 for St. Joseph’s Hospice. The funds raised at this event will be going towards purchasing two Dyson Purifier Humidify & Cool to assist with maintaining the best possible air quality for our residents. The additional funds raised will be directed to our Resident care. Thank you, Ladies, for your continued support of St. Joseph’s Hospice and those we serve!

On June 5, 2023, Bayshore presented St. Joseph’s Hospice with a cheque in the amount of $532.50. With our generous community supporters and donations like this, we are able to serve the Sarnia Lambton community, free of charge. On May 29, 2023, The Catholic Women’s League of Canada London Diocesan Council presented St. Joseph’s Hospice with a $1,500 cheque. In April 2023, the Sarnia Lambton Region Catholic Women’s League hosted the London Diocesan Catholic Women’s League Annual Meeting of Members and Convention. At their Gala Mass a collection was taken to donate to local charities. We are so thankful for The Catholic Women’s League of Canada London Diocesan Council for their generous support of St. Joseph’s Hospice and those we serve.
