It is with heavy hearts that the Holy Mary of the Rosary Association disbands. The group generously wanted to split their assets amongst 5 local charities in Sarnia Lambton and St. Joseph’s Hospice was fortunate to be one of them. On March 7th, members of the Holy Mary of the Rosary Association presented St. Joseph’s Hospice with a cheque in the amount of $6,000. We are truly thankful for their generous gift and thinking of St. Joseph’s Hospice and those we serve.

Home Away From Home

My Dad, Ken, was sent to St. Joseph's Hospice on Saturday, January 15, 2021. The moment he got there, the nurses and PSW’s treated him with such kindness. Rachael and Sisto went above and beyond to get him anything he needed. Spoiling him with ice cream, bringing us tea and coffee, their humour alone made us smile and relax. I can not express enough how much we appreciated Sisto with each passing day. My Dad said, this is a home away from home and he was so thankful to be there. Sadly, Dad passed away on January 19. We had hoped for more time as I’m sure all do.

Precious Memories

August 10, 2021 - It has been a month today since my father passed away at Hospice. He had an incredible 12 weeks there, and although the pain of losing my dad is fresh, the grief shifts to gratitude as a result of the experience that we all got to have as a result of his stay there. The care he received was incredible. The staff treated my dad "Bob" with such dignity, compassion, and much appreciated humour, which my dad loved. Dr. Lilly and the staff were able to help make my dad comfortable, and we were given the opportunity to have such quality time with him, where precious memories were made.

And her answer was, “I hear the Hospice is a very nice place.”  From the moment of our arrival I knew that her answer to Dr. Kim’s question was an understatement indeed!
