Sharing Love, Creating Comfort: Your Support Matters.

How is Hospice Funded?

St. Joseph’s Hospice is blessed with the support of a caring community but we need your help.

St. Joseph’s Hospice is not fully government funded.  We rely on the generosity of donors to cover more than 60% of our total annual budget. While the Ministry of Health provides funding for a portion of our nursing and personal support staff, all remaining costs must be raised through community fundraising efforts.

This year alone, we must raise $1 million just to operate our 10-bed residential hospice in addition to the government funding we receive. These funds are essential to ensuring that individuals facing end-of-life receive care in a setting that upholds dignity, compassion, and comfort.

In total, over $2.5 million in annual fundraising is required to sustain the full range of programs and services we provide to clients, residents, and families across our community—all at no cost to those we serve.

Your support makes this care possible.
